Bridging the Gap Between Classroom and Home
What is ReflectEd Tracker?
- What went well?
- What could improve?
- How aligned was the behavior with the student’s personal goals?
This shared reflection promotes accountability, builds relationships, and keeps goals top of mind throughout the day.
All reflections are collected in real time and transformed into meaningful visual data—allowing teachers, parents, and support staff to track trends, spot patterns, and provide better interventions.
Key Features:
Student-Teacher Reflections After Each Lesson
Personalized Goal Tracking

How It Works
The first step involves the student, teacher, and parent working together to identify one specific behavior improvement goal. The goal should be clear, achievable, and positively stated. Examples of typical goals include:
- Completing classwork or homework on time
- Staying seated during instruction
- Using kind and respectful language
- Raising a hand before speaking
- Staying on task during independent work
The goal is personalized based on the student’s needs and focuses on growth in one specific area.
Once a goal is selected, the team determines how progress will be monitored using a rating scale. The scale is selected based on the student’s age and developmental level:
- Younger students (e.g., Kindergarten – Grade 2)
Use visual cues such as:- Smiley face scale 😊 😐 ☹️ (e.g., Great / Okay / Needs Work)
- Older students (e.g., Grade 3 and up)
Use numeric scales, such as:- 1 to 3: Simple, quick feedback
- 1 to 4 or 1 to 5: Allows for more nuance in reflection
(e.g., 1 = Needs major improvement, 5 = Excellent performance)
The student and teacher decide what each point on the scale means to ensure a shared understanding.
- Frequency: The student receives feedback at consistent intervals—daily or multiple times per day depending on the behavior and student needs.
- Who completes the tracker: The student may self-reflect and score themselves first, followed by the teacher’s rating. This builds self-awareness and opens conversation.
- Communication with parents: The tracker is sent home daily or weekly. Parents review it, discuss progress with the student, and provide encouragement or feedback.
The student, teacher, and parent periodically review the tracker to assess progress:
- If the student is consistently meeting the goal, they may set a new goal.
- If there are struggles, the team may adjust the strategy, rating scale, or support plan.
Benefits of Using Reflect Ed Trackers
1. Encourages Student Ownership and Reflection
Students actively participate in setting goals and tracking their progress. This helps them:
- Develop self-awareness about their behavior
- Learn how to self-monitor and reflect after each lesson
- Build executive functioning skills like focus, planning, and follow-through
2. Strengthens the Teacher-Student Relationship
Check-ins create structured moments for connection and coaching. Students feel seen and supported, not just corrected. The tracker builds in:
- Positive interactions
- Clear, consistent expectations
- Opportunities for students to reset and refocus
3. Provides Targeted, Data-Driven Support
The tracker generates real-time data teachers can use to:
- Track patterns in behavior (e.g., is focus dropping during certain subjects or times?)
- Adjust interventions and supports as needed
- Share evidence-based updates with families or school teams (e.g., IEP or SST meetings)
4. Improves Communication with Families
Reflect Ed Trackers bridge the gap between school and home by:
- Giving parents insight into how their child is doing each day
- Helping parents celebrate progress and reinforce goals
- Encouraging a team approach to behavior growth
5. Builds Motivation Through Consistent Positive Reinforcement
By setting clear expectations and offering small celebrations for progress, students are more motivated to meet their goals. This:
- Reinforces effort and growth
- Builds confidence and pride
- Makes behavior change feel achievable and rewarding
6. Saves Teachers Time in the Long Run
Though it takes a few minutes to set up, the system:
- Helps reduce repeated behavior issues
- Limits time spent on redirection and consequences
- Makes behavior data easy to access and share
7. Promotes a Growth Mindset
Rather than labeling behavior as “good” or “bad,” Reflect Ed Trackers help students see their behavior as something they can improve with practice and support.
“I had a rough morning, but I turned it around after lunch.”
“I got a 3 today—I want to work on getting a 4 tomorrow!”
